The Working Week 8: Charles Helliwell
This week, Wayne is joined by executive coach and Management-Issues columnist, Charles Helliwell of Business Personality Audits.
A recent article on Management-Issues Coach or cowboy?, suggested that many organisations that use coaching are concerned about the quality and lack of regulation of the growing coaching industry.
While Wayne points out that you can’t move in a organisation these days for someone trying to sell coaching, Charles Helliwell argues that formal regulation or certification of coaches isn’t the answer.
Coaching, he points out, is based on personal relationships and each relationship is different. Therefore it has to be up to the individual to work out whether a particular coach is right for their particular set of circumstances.
